Happl's new look goes deeper than the surface

Happl has a new look. You'll see us switch from green to purple across our website, the platform and everything we send.
The brand is new, but the company underneath it isn't. Over the past few years Happl has become the system that global benefits run on. The new look is built to show it. It's our look catching up with who we already are.
The problem we built Happl to solve
The new brand starts with the problem Happl was built to solve. Benefits are one of the biggest people costs a company has. For a team spread across countries, they're also one of the hardest to run.
Every new market brings its own providers, tax rules and payroll reporting. Your HRIS, your pension provider and your insurers were bought at different times to do different jobs. None of them were built to talk to each other.
So the gaps get filled by hand. New joiners are added through spreadsheets sent by email. Deductions are checked line by line before payroll runs. Employees wait on HR to find out what they're covered for.
"The employee benefits space is ridiculously under-innovated. It's still running on manual CSV files sent by email or SFTP transfers, just to add new joiners or get insurance data."
Ben Towers, co-founder and CEO, Happl
BenefitsOS: the integration layer for benefits
What's missing is something underneath all of those systems that connects them. Your phone works this way. Every app on it runs on the same operating system, so they share information without you moving it between them.
Happl does the same for benefits. It's the benefits operating system for global enterprises. With BenefitsOS, every benefit, every provider, every payroll deduction and every report sits in one connected system, and it joins up the HRIS, payroll and finance platforms you already use.
Here's what that means day to day.
- Joiners and leavers take care of themselves. Happl syncs with your HRIS twice a day. When someone joins, leaves or moves country, their benefits update without anyone touching the admin.
- Policy documents become rules. Happl reads your broker's policy pack and builds the eligibility rules from it. That's usually a week of manual setup.
- Every market stays compliant. Deductions, tax rules and payroll reports are calculated country by country, so payroll gets the right figure first time.
- Your AI tools can read your benefits data. MCP securely links Happl to the AI tools you already use, like Copilot, Claude and ChatGPT. You ask a question and the answer comes back in the chat you're already in.
- Employees get answers without waiting on HR. They see their benefits on web and mobile, and Happl AI answers their questions as they come up.
Happl now runs benefits in 160+ countries and syncs over a million data changes a month from HRIS platforms. Teams using it save up to 90% of the time they spent on benefits admin.
“The key feature of Happl that we noticed pretty early on… was the reliability of the reporting and the exports.”
James Aubery, Finance Director, Thriva
There's more on how each part works on our platform overview.

Why we changed our look
Happl started from a simple idea: happy people. The green brand was bright, friendly and playful, and it made benefits feel approachable for the people using them.
As the platform grew, there was more to show. Underneath every benefit sit the connections into payroll, the rules engine and the compliance work done in every market. Anyone choosing a platform to run benefits across several countries wants to see that depth before they trust it with payroll.
So the new brand had to hold two things at once. Benefits are run by people who got into HR to look after people, and the system they trust with payroll has to be precise. We wanted a brand that shows that work and keeps the warmth people already know.
The new look is warmer and more relaxed. Purple takes over from green, with brighter colour and soft gradients alongside it, and it feels more like the people we build for. The smile in our logo has stayed, because the mission behind it hasn't changed.

Same Happl, different colour
Happl has always been about getting people the support they need at work. A new colour doesn't change that.
'What got me into the space was having close friends and family experience mental health challenges. I wanted to do something to address that and help others. The problem was, I'm not a doctor, so I couldn't help with treatment directly. Instead, I realised that around 15 to 20% of payroll is spent on benefits.'
Ben Towers, co-founder and CEO, Happl
Getting more of that spend to the people it's meant for still shapes everything we build.

What's next
More intelligence is coming into the system, and more of the manual work is going.
Benefits will launch in new markets in weeks rather than months. Compliance alerts will arrive before a team enters a new country, not after. Workflows will run the moment something changes in your HRIS.
HR teams get into this job because they care about people, not spreadsheets. When the system takes on the admin, they get that time back.
We don't think benefits should be something you manage. We think they should be something your people feel. That's what we're building.
